Cylinder Level Float made of Titanium for high Pressure

19.04.2010

A particularly elaborated designed cylinder titanium float for high pressure in the field of use for condensate removal. An international client came to us with a problem with a condensate drain. The circumstances concerning pressure, temperature, fluid densities and the necessary large float volume (as a lifting force) made it necessary to construct a product, which could not be produced by other manufacturers in this way.

Ball forms are normally used for high pressure, as these have the largest resistance. In this case, however, the float also had to have a particularly large volume, which could not be accomplished with a ball float – within the required limits of size. For this reason, we developed a special internal construction, which supports the cylinder form from the inside and counteracts the external pressure.

We were surprised ourselves, when we used a pressure test (as bursting test) to ascertain that the float did not break until the pressure reached 260 bar.

The special details about this float:

  • High volume
  • Low density
  • High stability to pressure
